deep healing for the whole body
deep healing for the whole body
Thai Yoga is a unique healing system, also called Nuad Boran, in which the practitioner guides the client through a series of yoga postures, while palming and thumbing along the body’s energy (‘Sen’) lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Thai Yoga is performed on a mat on the floor. Both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility.
When we allow the body to process and integrate our past experiences, we can go out into the world with more confidence and awareness of what we need to do to be our best selves.Helping you slow down and attune to what your body is telling you is my top priority as a Thai Yoga practitioner. I combine Traditional Thai Yoga and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy to strengthen your body and relax your mind so that you can live with more ease and well-being.
I specialize in working with:
> Veterans with PTSD (learn more about how bodywork helps veterans with PTSD here)
> survivors of sexual trauma
> adults with chronic pain
> young adults with anxiety and depression
> women recovering from miscarriage or traumatic birth experiences
I look forward to supporting your healing journey.
Traditional Thai Yoga is an ancient healing system that combines Ayurvedic medicine, acupressure, and assisted yoga postures to open joints, stretch muscles and tendons, tone internal organs, relieve chronic pain, and balance the entire body. Thai Yoga is performed on a mat on the floor. Both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on technique. The practitioner's hands are lightly placed on the head, shoulders, and feet to release trauma in the nervous system and to teach the cerebrospinal fluid how to find equilibrium. This technique has proven to be one of the best for alleviating PTSD.
I went to Catherine for some simple relief. I was suffering through a ‘frozen shoulder’ that was causing me discomfort and limiting my ability to move throughout life. I had seen two people about it, not including my doctor. One of those people was a professional sports medicine person who had been working with me for a few months. We were making progress, but it was very slow.
During the session with Catherine, I was more limber in my shoulder, but the pain had subsided immensely! I couldn’t believe it. Even twirling my shoulder around, gingerly at first, it was hard to believe. I assumed it would be a temporary fix, but with some regular stretching throughout the day my frozen shoulder was cured.
Since, I’ve recommended Catherine to anyone I know who needs healing. As they say: run, don’t walk. See her today!
Sessions with Catherine have immediately diffused the stresses I face as a small business owner and a photographer. She draws on the science of multiple healing methodologies to guide me in practices that I then take home. I even keep one of her handouts on my desk to reference when I need a tool for refocusing my mind. Your time with skilled, compassionate Catherine is a worthwhile investment in yourself.
